Campus Space Renovations
Plans and Project Update
Conceptual Design and Site Plans
We were on the move this Sunday. Marching to the light of God, we entered our new "temporary" Worship space. It was a Glorious Sunday. Many comments were made of the Spirit moving among us in our new space. Thank you all who helped plan and bring to fruition our new worship home. From this point until the completion of the project, we will be worshiping in Johnstone Hall.
Thank you to all in the parish who have helped us to grow, plan, and fund the Campus Space Renovation program. We have submitted Hamilton, Green, and Abrahamsson's (HGA's) architectural design plans to the County and have received the County's minor comments on the plans. We have received preliminary bids from the general contractor and are negotiating final scope and pricing. The construction start date depends on the time it takes the County to complete their review and final contractual arrangements with the general contractor, AP Thomas. Construction will likely start in late June or early July.
The Renovation will dramatically transform St. Michael’s church buildings with important upgrades that will remove hazardous materials, make long-overdue upgrades to roofing, flooring and finishes, create more functional education spaces, and enhance lighting, acoustics and the configuration of our worship space to make it consistent with the theology that we practice. Please join me in strongly supporting this program to invest in ourselves, improve our educational facilities, and transform St. Michaels’ worship space in a dramatic and effective way.
