Baptism & Confirmation

Baptism

At St. Michael's, baptisms are done periodically within appropriate church services. At the 10am Easter Sunday Service, we welcomed four new members into the Christian community.  If you would like to be baptized or schedule a baptism for your child(ren) and/or grandchild(ren), please connect with Rev. Mary 916.488.3550 x 15 or email revmary@stmichaelscarmichael.org.

Confirmation

The Rt. Rev. Barry Beisner will be visiting St. Michael's May 21, 2107.  He will be Confirming, Reaffirming, and Receiving members.  If you would like to be Confirmed (for those who have not been confirmed in any of the catholic traditions), Received (for those who have been confirmed in the catholic tradition) or Reaffirm your Baptismal Vows, please let the office know.  Sign ups will start on March 26th.  You are required to attend The Confirmation Class which will be after the 10am service on April 23, April 30, May 7, and May 14.  Also the Bishop likes to meet with you before the service.  This will take place at 4:00pm on May 20th.  I hope you will consider joining this class, it is a wonderful way to continue your education of and formation within The Episcopal Tradition.  If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Mary

Class Schedule 2017

April 23 – Instructed Eucharist –

All are invited to come to an informal Eucharist where Rev. Mary will explain the different parts of the service and the theology that underlies what we do and how we do it.

April 30 – Our Story –

From Creation to the Resurrection! We will explore some key Old and New Testament Bible passages, which help us to know God and shape who we are as Christians.

May 7 – Forgiveness –

We will explore the Christian act of forgiving and being forgiven. We'll discuss the ways sin affects all our relationships, especially to God. Penance and reconciliation, our path to wholeness, will be explored through scripture and contemporary practices.

May 14 – Spiritual Journey -

We will be answering these questions:  Where God has been in your life?  Where has the Holy Spirit moved you beyond yourself into new experiences and/or places?  Guidance will be available to help with this exercise.
